Can you believe I mistakenly wrote 2020 in a form I filled yesterday? Funny right?
I later discovered that I had written 2020 in my personal notepad for a whole week instead of 2021. Haha!
Of course, I know we’ve made a switch into a new year which is fast ticking away but why isn’t it registered in my subconscious yet? Why the silly error?
Later at night, I lay down in deep retrospection and made a significant discovery! –
My conscious mind knew that I was in a new year, 2021, but my subconscious mind was yet to fully process it. I perused further and realized that there were some goals I had written down for 2020 which were left undone. Largely, it was due to some situations beyond my control.
Boom! That was an eureka moment for me. A problem defined is half solved. The error in date wasn’t the issue but the unmet goals! They kept dragging me back. I don’t want to live in the past.
I choose to step out of every limiting tie. So I had to do something about it immediately.
I brought out my vision board for 2020 and saw the missing link between my unmet goals and the actualized ones. I had moved some to my 2021 goals but I needed to be more strategic. My spirit man was calling for more. The sign I needed was just the date error I committed. So I told myself the past is gone, but the future is my hope.
Dearest friend, have you found yourself in a similar situation before? Are you in any way still living in past glories or failures?
Some of us are still caught up with the failures or successes of 2020, that we fail to actually begin the conquest of 2021. Others are too happy or angry with January that they refuse to acknowledge February. Some are still holding on to the bitterness of past failed relationships that they refuse to see the amazing ones ahead of them.
The high point is that we need to step out of the past in order to step into the future.
Our conscious and subconscious minds work very differently. If we refuse to let go of the past, both the positives and the negatives, we will not move forward. If we do, it would be slow and tedious. WIth all urgency, we need to step out of the past both consciously and unconsciously.
We must learn to assess the past, learn the necessary lessons, then move on with our lives. We need to learn to reprogram ourselves, with the backing of scriptural promises.
“Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” (Isaiah 43:18-19)
It must start from within. Condition your mind to get rid of the excess baggage of old thoughts or ideas in order to accelerate your speed to the beautiful things ahead.
Philippians 3:13-14 say, “I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”
From today, I step out to step in.
“For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.” (Isaiah 50:7)
As you resolve to step into your future, be rest assured that God is with you all the way.
Welcome to the beginning of your glorious future.
